Karim Adam is an experienced Art Director, graphic designer, and visual artist based in Dubai, with over 17 years of experience across multiple design disciplines. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria in 2009, specializing in Graphic Design, and has since built a wide-ranging career spanning publishing, television, film, and branding.
He has designed more than 1,000 book covers for over 30 publishing houses across Egypt and the Arab world, and was recognized by Design Guide magazine as one of the most renowned book cover designers in the region. His work includes collaborations with prominent writers and intellectual figures such as Sheikha Alyazia Bint Nahyan Al Nahyan, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Ahmed Mourad, and Youssef Ziedan.
In addition to publishing, Karim has contributed to major cultural and entertainment platforms—designing visual identities and posters for events such as the Cairo International Film Festival and El Gouna Film Festival, and delivering posters, key art, and title sequences for television series, films, and a wide range of news and TV programs.
His portfolio includes notable projects such as Layali Eugenie, Aho Da Elly Sar, Bel Hagm El Aely, Ma’akom Mona El Shazly, as well as recent works including the series Lam Shamsiya and the title sequence for Ward w Shokolata. In film, his work features projects such as Hepta 2, El Sadah El Afadel, My Father’s Scent (Cologne), and Searching for an Exit for Mr. Rambo, alongside collaborations with global platforms including Netflix on titles such as Paranormal, Drama Queen (Abla Fahita), Perfect Strangers, and Mosul.
His achievements include a PROMAX nomination in 2023 for Seeing is Believing, and in 2024 he received eight Telly Awards (five silver and three bronze) for his work with Asharq News, in addition to the GEMA Bronze Award for designing the visual identity of Asharq Documentary. He has also been invited as a speaker at leading events such as the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair and Sharjah International Book Fair.
Currently, Karim serves as the Art Director at Asharq Network in Dubai, leading graphic design and visual branding across Asharq News, Asharq Documentary, Asharq Bloomberg, and Asharq Discovery driven by a passion for blending tradition with modernity to create visual work that leaves a lasting impact on the Arab design landscape.
